He has been crowned the world’s greenest celeb, below in a video extract from the US climate series ‘Years of Living Dangerously’ the Vampire Diaries star explains why he cares and what inspired him to fight climate change. Somerhalder says that when he first heard about the documentary series his heart jumped out of his chest because he realised this needed to happen now.
In 2010 Ian Somerhalder launched the Ian Somerhalder Foundation as a broad environmental organisation looking to tackle the most critical environmental issues through collaboration.
