Editorial note: On the 9th of November 2024, Donald Trump won the 2024 US election and became the 47th US president.

Clean Energy for America (CE4A), an advocacy group, has thrown its full support behind current Vice President Kamala Harris‘s bid to become the 47th President of the United States.
In a six-figure campaign, the group hopes to galvanise her presidential bid as well as that of other Democratic clean energy candidates nationwide, as well as in local elections.
Keeping the US clean energy boom alive
The organisation is keen not to lose the momentum and boom that the industry has experienced during the Biden Administration. They explain that the industry has experienced a massive expansion, acquiring more than 300,000 new workers since 2022. The campaign wants to galvanise the growing political support behind the Harris campaign and clean energy policies in the Senate and House of Representatives.
The campaign Vote Clean Energy is a partnership between CE4A Action and the Solar Voters Alliance (CCEC). Their funds are being spent organising clean energy workers to vote for clean energy candidates in the November 5th election. The campaign will focus on political battleground states, with the objective of securing enough votes to put clean energy candidates over the top this election.
Fighting for the US’s clean energy future
Andrew Reagan, of Clean Energy for America Action, stated: “This is the most important election in history for the clean energy industry. The choice is clear: We can support Kamala Harris and her strong clean energy record including the largest clean energy investments in history. Or we can let a man who shook down Big Oil and Gas with a promise to do their bidding in exchange for a $1 billion campaign contribution roll back the historic progress we’ve seen in the last 4 years. The clean energy industry can make the difference in close contests in swing states and our goal is to make that happen.”
Targeting key states
The campaign began on August 7th and will target key states, including Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, and Georgia, among others. It will last until election day, doing its utmost to drive voter participation. CE4A Action works to support candidates who prioritise clean energy investments, climate action, and environmental justice. The objective of the CCEC is to elevate the voices of the 250,000 employees working in the solar and storage industries.
In addition to the election of the next US president, on the 5th of November, US citizens will also cast their votes in 33 (out of 100) Senate seat elections, and all the 435 seats in the US House of Representatives, several Governor elections and local elections.
