Little is reported by mainstream media about the devastating impact of fossil fuels in Russia, the world’s largest land mass. Indigenous people and green groups would tell you about thousands of oil spills going unreported in Russia each year, due to a serious lack of safeguarding regulations and lack of media outlets not controlled by the state.
But earlier this month, when an underline pipeline exploded underneath a Russian river (video above), not even Putin and his government could hide the devastating impact fossil fuels have on the country. The video shows a Moscow river on fire following the explosion.
