The travel industry has been impacted by climate change in more ways than one. You can even now travel to places for the unique experience of witnessing the changing climate in action.
One such place where this can be experienced is on the cable car SkyWay Monte Bianco, operated by the resort Courmayeur by the highest mountain in the Alps, Mont Blanc.
I spoke with Maria Lagazzi from Courmayer who told me about how the cable car reaches the towering height of 3,446 metres above sea level which gives you a frontrow seat to witness the dramatic climatic changes unfolding in the Alps. We also discussed the company’s ambitious plastic-free pledge, a new research project they’re undertaking which aims to help preserve the Mont Blanc glacier and what they’re doing to encourage sustainable behaviour amongst their guests.
