What we know so far
- Massive landslides and flash floods on the Tibet-Nepal border have caused the deaths of hundreds with thousands of people missing
- Glacial collapse appear to have trigged the catastrophe
- Verified videos has showed crushing masses of water and debris sweeping away dozens of people at a border crossing in Gyirong. Homes, roads and power projects were washed away in Nepal as the flows travelled downstream
- Scientists say that climate change is leading to conditions that can destabilise high-mountain rock and ice

Fatalities: The latest updates from the Nepalese authorities has updated the death toll to nearly 500 at 489.

Video: Dramatic and upsetting video shows moments before a mudslide washed away Nepalese villages.

Fatalities: The Nepalese police service say that 270 bodies have been recovered in the country, a drastic increase from the 165 that was reported to have died earlier today.
Authorities expect fatalities to further increase today and the coming days as rescue and recovery missions intensify.
